Beloved Landmark Reopens
The Old Capitol, the building in which Iowa made the transition from territory to statehood, is now open to visitors after being closed for more than four years. The building will be on display for the first time since November 2001, when a renovation accident caused a fire that destroyed the 160 year old cupola, dome, and bell.
